On Friday, September 26, I, Kia Brown, attended my first Sandy Creek Football game. I know, it seems a little crazy with football clearly being the dominate sport at the school and all. I am currently a senior here at Sandy Creek, and I transferred to the school during my freshman year, so I have had plenty of time to attend a game. I’ve been to other school’s football games but never got around to going to a Sandy Creek game.
Many of my friends and even teachers have pushed me to go to a game. They would say, “Kia you should just come,” and, “It’s going to be a lot of fun.” I just never complied. Finally, I decided to go. I attended one of the biggest game of the season so far: Sandy Creek vs. Auburn.
When I got to the game, I went straight to the student section with a couple of my friends. The game began and the section filled full of overly enthusiastic students. At first it was a little much for me. My past experiences with football games have been more mellow where no students actually watched the game. However, I soon caught on and began chanting and screaming with my classmates. The game was truly intense and interesting. I definitely had fun!
I can say my first Sandy Creek football game didn’t disappoint me, and I will make sure I attend all games coming up! I really have been missing out.
